Coloring Easter Eggs
Decorating! (This is serious business)
Now that the kids are reading on their own, we had fun creating a scavenger hunt of clues for them to follow to find their Easter baskets. They had so much fun! The favorite "item" in the baskets were the stuffed "Easter Dinosaurs" (what, you've never heard of an Easter Dinosaur?)
We purchased these Resurrection Eggs this year and opened 1 or 2 each evening and read the corresponding portion of the Easter story from the Bible. I have love how we use an advent calendar at Christmas for this same idea (reflecting on Jesus birth), so it was neat to have a tool to use with the kids to spend days leading up to Easter reflecting on Christ's death and resurrection.
Sunday morning we attended an outdoor service at 7:30am, followed by a pancake breakfast. Our church decided to have the early service and breakfast so that those who would be serving during the main 10:00 service time would be able to still attend a church service themselves. It was great! We then saw many new faces at our main morning service, and the kids all enjoyed a big Easter egg hunt afterward. Grandma and Grandpa visited our church as well!
Later in the day we headed over to Micah's parents house for dinner, and the kids enjoyed hunting for Easter eggs with their cousins.
This is our newest niece... Riley Grace (posing with her proud Nana of course)! Isn't she the cutest?? Such a chunky monkey and I love it! Reminds me of Eli as a baby :)
